Best Short Film - Prix UIP 2006
On a hot summer day, five teenagers go to a river to cool off. They swim, they sleep, they eat snacks and ice cream. Joke Liberge captures the skinny bodies and the surroundings with a keen eye for detail. As music and dialogue are missing, everyday sounds attract attention: bicycles riding on gravel, feet gliding through water, gasps and splutters.
Bio Joke Liberge
Joke Liberge (1972) graduated from the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam in 2001 with the short film Jana. She then moved to Brussels, where she directed several music videos and Meander, which won several awards.
