Cátia Rodrigues

Cátia Rodrigues (Porto, 1995) is a film curator, critic, and researcher. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Artistic Studies at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Nova University of Lisbon. Cátia holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Porto (2020) and a Master’s in Aesthetics and Artistic Studies (2023). Rodrigues works as a film programmer for the Curtas Vila do Conde IFF and BEAST IFF and has been curating the Mostra de Primeiras Curtas at Livraria Térmita (Porto) since 2021. Additionally, she is a member of the editorial board of La Furia Umana, a journal dedicated to cinema theory and history. She was also an editor for the site Krino Ifilnova. She has published in À Pala de Walsh, Krino Ifilnova, La Furia Umana, Aniki - Revista Portuguesa da Imagem em Movimento, Variety, among others.

Cátia Rodrigues participated in “Greatest” Short Films of All Time 2025, a first-ever poll of its kind as a collective love letter to the art of short-form moving image. yanco and Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, in collaboration with Talking Shorts, invited filmmakers, curators, distributors, critics, and scholars worldwide to nominate 10 audiovisual works under sixty minutes that they personally consider the “greatest” of all time.
