The Wrong Trousers (Nick Park, 1993)

    The Wrong Trousers

Nick Park, United Kingdom, 1993, 30’

British clay animation Wallace & Gromit was created by Nick Park and produced by Aardman Animations. The series revolves around Wallace, a kind-hearted, eccentric, cheese-loving bachelor and inventor, and Gromit, his loyal and intelligent anthropomorphic dog.

In the Oscar-winning The Wrong Trousers, Wallace rents out Gromit’s bedroom to a penguin. The latter takes an interest in the techno trousers created by Wallace. Only later, Gromit learns the penguin is a wanted criminal.

Nick Park created the stop-motion classics Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. The English animator was nominated for six Academy Awards and won four of them, for Creature Comforts (1989), The Wrong Trousers (1993), A Close Shave (1995), and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005).
