Scott Hoy nam deel aan de poll “Greatest” Short Films of All Time 2025, een unieke publieksbevraging als collectieve liefdesbrief aan de kunst van de korte film. yanco en Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, in samenwerking met Talking Shorts, nodigden filmmakers, curatoren, distributeurs, critici en academici wereldwijd uit om tien audiovisuele werken van minder dan zestig minuten te nomineren die zij persoonlijk beschouwen als de “beste” aller tijden. Dit was de inzending van Scott Hoy:

Made in 1902, it was groundbreaking in special effects, and is considered the first science fiction film of all time.

Hand drawn animation, great music, a timeless Christmas classic about a boy and a snowman who comes to life.

Directed by Luis Bunuel, a classic on most people’s top 10 list of short films. Surrealism on film, as Salvador Dali painted on canvas.
