Pedro Emilio Segura Bernal

Pedro Emilio Segura Bernal is a programmer, film critic, and distributor based in Mexico City. He is the co-founder of the distribution company La Ola Cine. Currently, he is part of the programming teams for the Ambulante (Mx), Reykjavik International Film Festival (Is), and Tijuana FF. His critical writings have been published in specialised outlets such as Mubi Notebook, Cinema Scope, Film Comment, and festival publications from the Viennale and Locarno, among others. He has served as a jury member at festivals such as Mar del Plata, Indielisboa, Jihlava, Vienna Shorts, and Bucharest Experimental International Film Festival.

Pedro Emilio Segura Bernal participated in “Greatest” Short Films of All Time 2025, a first-ever poll of its kind as a collective love letter to the art of short-form moving image. yanco and Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, in collaboration with Talking Shorts, invited filmmakers, curators, distributors, critics, and scholars worldwide to nominate 10 audiovisual works under sixty minutes that they personally consider the “greatest” of all time.
