double bill #18
In this double bill, siblinghood becomes a fragile thread—stretched across time, distance, and the soft ache of remembering. Together, Minne and Delanghe’s films meditate on the fragility of time and reflect on what slips away—and what endures.
In Da-Dzma, Jaro Minne lingers on the stillness of a Georgian winter, where a young girl reaches toward her older brother just as he prepares to leave home in search of work. Their bond forms in glances and small gestures, already shadowed by separation. Chloë Delanghe’s Magic, a portrait of Joris pieces together the traces of her own brother via VHS tapes filmed by her father and 8mm footage she recorded years later. Past and present touch at their edges, creating a new way of seeing someone who exists across formats, across time.
