Pedro Gonçalves Ribeiro

Pedro Gonçalves Ribeiro is a Brazilian filmmaker and film programmer at IndieLisboa IFF, Rio de Janeiro IFF, and Curta Cinema IFF. He studied at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastián and holds a Master’s degree in Moving Image from the Fine Arts School of Lisbon. His work explores imaginary places tied to urban space, weaving legends, tales, dreams, and ghosts of all kinds into its narratives, and has been screened and awarded at international film festivals such as Cinéma du réel, RIDM Montréal, FICCI Cartagena das Índias, VIFF, Festival dei Popoli, among others.

Pedro Gonçalves Ribeiro participated in “Greatest” Short Films of All Time 2025, a first-ever poll of its kind as a collective love letter to the art of short-form moving image. yanco and Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, in collaboration with Talking Shorts, invited filmmakers, curators, distributors, critics, and scholars worldwide to nominate 10 audiovisual works under sixty minutes that they personally consider the “greatest” of all time.
