Margot Amadei (Marseille, 2000) is a freelance festival programmer based in Europe. While living in Rome in 2021, she began serving on the selection committee for French-speaking short films at the Rome Independent Film Festival (RIFF) and later served as head of the international short film programmes for three years. She also worked for the French independent distribution company Épicentre Films, releasing international feature films such as Wolf and Dog by Cláudia Varejaõ, When the Waves are Gone by Lav Diaz, Pornomelancolia by Manuel Abramovich, and Last Dance by Delphine Lehericey.
She joined the Film Fest Gent selection committee in 2024, working on short and feature films. Since the same year, she has also been working in Lithuania as a programmer and head of short films at the Vilnius Film Festival Kino Pavasaris. Margot studied International Affairs and Political Sciences at Sciences Po Aix and obtained her Master’s degree in Cultural Management, Cultural Policies and Patronage with her thesis “LGBTQ+ Film Festivals, Between Politics and Aesthetics”.
