Palestinian artist Basma al-Sharif was raised between France, the US, and the Gaza Strip and developed her practice nomadically. She explores cyclical political history and conflicts at the intersection of cinema and installation. Her focus is on the human condition as it relates to various landscapes and geographies. Her work searches for understanding amid complex places, overdetermined by political upheaval. She uses the film format to show the world through a different lens.
