Alice Kharoubi has been part of the Red Sea International Film Festival’s programming team since the festival’s creation and now also leads its Souk Talents and Souk Connections initiatives. Last year, she served as Artistic Director of a screenwriting residency programme. She has been a key member of the Festival de Cannes team for many years, currently serving on the Short Film Competition committee and as Director of Cinema Programming at the Marché du Film, where she also created Cannes Makers, a programme designed to support the next generation of international sales professionals.
Formerly Head of Cannes Court Métrage, she was appointed Short Film Programmer for the Abu Dhabi Film Festival and has contributed to the programming team of Festival Tous Écrans in Geneva. Frequently invited to mentor emerging filmmakers and scout new voices, she also sits on several film and script selection committees. Alice is an EAVE alumna.
Alice Kharoubi participated in “Greatest” Short Films of All Time 2025, a first-ever poll of its kind as a collective love letter to the art of short-form moving image. yanco and Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, in collaboration with Talking Shorts, invited filmmakers, curators, distributors, critics, and scholars worldwide to nominate 10 audiovisual works under sixty minutes that they personally consider the “greatest” of all time.
